From the O 5.10 release notes: This release of O is protected from non-registered users of the Silicon Graphics version of the program. Users must provide us with the chassis identification of each machine that will run the program. For Challenge and Onyx users this number is returned by typing
% sysinfo -o
for all other SGI users, type
% sysinfo -s
A list of Id's should be sent by your local O administrator to
jin@xray.bmc.uu.se
He will return to you, by e-mail, an O datablock that should be carved out of your local mail program and moved into a file called
access.o
This file should be placed in your O data directory - where the menu.o, startup.o etc files are kept. The program checks if this datablock is in your database. If it is not present, you will be prompted for the file name. If the machine being used is not registered, you will not be able to save any of your results.
Every time your site gets a new machine, we must get its Id. We will then return the access code which should be added to the datablock.
