The X-Ray Crystallography & SAXS Facility at UCSF is home to one Rigaku RU-200 rotating anode x-ray machine with an R-axis IV detector and one Anton Paar SAXSess mc2 system with Mythen detector.

Prior to accessing the lab, new users must request access from XRAY Facility manager by sending the numbers from the back their ID card.

Prior to using the in-house X-ray generators, users MUST download the safety form, manual, and watch the two safety videos.

Safety and operations training is required before new users may access this equipment.

  • Sign-up for time online at http://www.msg.ucsf.edu/XRayLab/faces.html
  • Weekdays are reserved for regular or micro cell experiments.
  • Weekends (Friday evening through Monday morning) are reserved for autosampler use.
  • Users are not to swap in/out the autosampler cell.
  • Use of the micro cell will be limited to one week per month.
  • Unless you are in either the Walter or Agard labs, use the cell labeled "general use".
  • Users are responsible for rinsing (millipore water), cleaning (isopropanol), and drying the cell after use
