  1. Get an SMB account from Matt Harrington (this is different from a regular MSG account)
  2. On your Linux PC, create a .cshrc file (a file that gets read every time you open a new Terminal window)
    1. vi .cshrc
    2. add the following lines to this file:

  3. Log into smb://luddite.ucsf.edu/linux from your Linux PCIn the address, type smb://luddite.ucsf.edu/i686 (this is actually a symbolic link to a folder on luddite called /home/public.Linux.i686/apps/)In the pop-up window, type username 'guest' and password 'guest'

Accessing My Home Directory on /home2 or /home3 from a Linux PC Desktop
